Upon leaving school in 1985 Jon pursued an apprenticeship in cabinet making and furniture before making the progression to contract joinery in 1989 predominantly working for contractors based in the leisure and retail fit out sectors, operating in central London and the home counties.
During the early 1990’s a career progression took him from local and regional contracting into the international fit out market providing quality interiors to overseas clients, it was in this difficult trading period Jon found himself looking at a return to the uk domestic fit out market and a Bench joiners role at what was then one of the UKS’s most talked about up-and-coming specialist joinery contractors.
As his trade-based career progressed the management team offered Jon the opportunity to make the next step and join the already highly respected design team, it was this moment in 1998 that shaped the future of Jon’s career and his development as an industry professional. A return to school to understand and qualify for industry specific management qualifications and in house CAD training ensured Jon had all the necessary tools to succeed in the role, and in 2005 was promoted to design manager overseeing the design of some of the most prestigious fit out contracts in central London.
Jon has built firm relationships with Architects, designers, main contractors and consultants within the industry over the last 18 years and has a dedicated, focused and collaborative approach to his work, attributes and values which are now firmly embedded within the DNA of JSD Cad draught and design ltd.
